Personalize Your Get-Our.App Short Link
In Step 2, you decide how your Get-Our.App short link will appear to the world. By default, our system generates a random Shortlink ID such as 4rjdDY. This is instantly usable and works perfectly, but you also have full control to personalize it — making it more brand-friendly, easier to remember, and more likely to be clicked.
How to Use This Step
You have two main options to customize your short link, giving you flexibility to match your brand and campaign needs.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps to create a memorable, brand-aligned short link for your campaign.
-
Look at the URL preview field
Note: If you want to keep the default system-generated ID, you can move directly to Step 3.
- To change it, click the edit icon next to the short link
-
Type in a new name — short, clear, and relevant
Best Practice: Keep it under 15 characters for easy typing and sharing.
- Click "Check Availability"
- If available, confirm the change; if not, try another
- Optionally, switch the slider to Custom Brand Name mode
- Enter your brand name and confirm
-
Test the link to ensure it loads your campaign preview
Testing: Open the link in an incognito window to see how users will experience it.
- Click "Next" to proceed to QR code customization
Do's and Don'ts
- Keep it short, memorable, and relevant to your app/game
- Use only letters, numbers, and hyphens
- Check that it's easy to type on mobile devices
- If using a brand name, ensure it matches your trademark and marketing style
- Test the link before launching your campaign
- Don't use spaces or special symbols
- Don't pick IDs that resemble competitor brands
- Don't change your live link without updating marketing materials
- Don't make it too long or complex to remember
- Don't use confusing characters (like O/0 or l/1)
Marketing Use Cases & Tips
A well-customized short link can dramatically improve your campaign performance by making it more memorable, trustworthy, and clickable. Here's how to leverage custom short links for maximum marketing impact.
- A/B Testing: Test different short link IDs in campaigns to see which performs better (e.g., /GetApp vs /Download2024)
- Event Follow-Ups: Create /EventReplay links for webinar or conference recordings
- Geo-Targeted Links: Use region-specific IDs like /AppIndia or /GameUSA
- Limited-Time Offers: Create short IDs that reflect urgency (/FlashSale, /24HrDeal)
- Cross-Promotion: If you have multiple apps/games, use links like /OurOtherApp to cross-sell
- Customer Support: /HelpApp could lead to a dedicated in-app support section
- Press & Media Kits: Provide journalists with /PressKit or /GamePress links
- Brand Recall: Use your brand name directly for higher recognition (e.g., /YourBankApp)
- Campaign Specificity: Create short IDs for seasonal campaigns (e.g., /WinterOffers, /SummerSale)
- Multi-Channel Consistency: Use the same short link across ads, emails, push notifications, and QR codes
- Offline-to-Online: Add brand-friendly short links on billboards, print ads, or store signage
- Referral Tracking: Create separate short IDs for each partner or affiliate (e.g., /BrandPartner1)
- Language-Specific: Have /AppNameHindi or /AppNameES for localized content
- Departmental Campaigns: Give each department its own link (e.g., /HRApp for employee portal)
- Crisis Communication: Use memorable links for urgent updates (e.g., /ServiceUpdate)
- Community Engagement: Use thematic or character-based IDs (e.g., /PlayDragonQuest, /ZombieRush)
- Event-Based Promotions: Create links for tournaments, live events, or seasonal updates (e.g., /Tournament2024)
- Influencer Collaborations: Assign influencers unique short links for tracking ROI (e.g., /NinjaPlays)
- Early Access & Beta: Use /GameBeta to invite users to exclusive test builds
- Guild/Clan Recruitment: Provide /JoinGuild links in forums or Discord servers
- Unlock Codes/Rewards: Combine with QR codes to redeem in-game bonuses (e.g., /BonusSkin)
- Platform Tracking: Create /GamePS5, /GameMobile for analytics segmentation
- Fan Challenges: Run competitions with dedicated links like /SpeedRunChallenge
Special Considerations
Once a link is live in marketing materials, changing it will break old references. Always use final IDs for published campaigns. If you must change a live link, update all marketing materials simultaneously.
For large brands, align with legal/marketing teams before locking in a custom brand short link. Ensure it doesn't conflict with existing trademarks or brand guidelines. Consider creating a naming convention for consistency.
When you've finalized your short link, proceed to Step 3 where you'll design your QR code — customizing colors, adding logos, and preparing it for print or digital campaigns.
